Scilly Ten Charity Run 10th April

The second charity run for Precious Lives is being held on the isles of Scilly on Sunday 10th April.
After a great response last year hope this year will be an every better success. The Scilly Ten circuit is designed for all ages and abilities and will consist of two 5 mile laps round the largest of the islands St Mary�s which is being sponsored by the isles of Scilly Steamship Group.
�We hope people will want to take part not just because we are raising money for a fantastic charity, but to have the opportunity to run in one of the most beautiful places in the UK � says race organiser Dawn Bradford
Trevor Lloyd, Chairman of Children's Hospice South West, said 'This is a wonderful community event, very much in line with our family-based way of doing things at Children's Hospice South West, and we are so grateful to all those involved, to the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group, to the organising committee, the runners and walkers, and to all those who contribute so generously to the Precious Lives Appeal. I am really glad to be there in person to thank everyone - because of your generosity we will be a step nearer to opening Little Harbour, our children's hospice near St.Austell, helping families to make the most of those precious lives of children who will die before they become adults.'
Jackie Hayman, Marketing Manager for the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company, added: �We are delighted to sponsor this event as we are regular supporters of Precious Live and collected over �2500 onboard the Scillonian last year for this worthy cause. I hope we manage to encourage more entries this year and raise even more awareness and funds for children with a life-limiting illness�

Entry fee is �10 per adult and all monies go straight to the charity. There is also a walk on the Sunday afternoon that follows on from the Walk Scilly Week for those that want to get involved at a more leisurely pace.
