Exeter Airport is teaming up with Skybus to offer an exclusive winter break* to the Isles of Scilly, staying at the luxurious Flying Boat Club on Tresco. This new partnership will make the Islands accessible throughout the winter season from Exeter at special rates.
The new service of twice weekly Skybus flights, using their nineteen seat Twin Otter, will follow the airlines summer season between Exeter Airport and St Marys. The short breaks on Tresco are now on sale and passengers will be able to enjoy the short break departing or arriving either on a Friday or a Monday until 28th February 2009.
To make the trip even more enjoyable, an Exeter Airport representative will be available to assist passengers prior to departure and offer a range of services which include car parking close to the terminal building, priority check in, security fast track and the use of the recently opened Exeter Corporate Aviation lounge.
Announcing the new service, Jamie Christon, Exeter Airports Deputy Managing Director said; We are very pleased to be able to offer a connection to the Isles of Scilly and extend the season through the autumn and winter. With the Islands known for their milder climate, these flights should prove very popular with those who want to enjoy the beauty of the Isles of Scilly at a quieter time of year.
The route from Exeter to the Isles of Scilly takes approximately one hour and is one of the most scenic flights in the UK. It offers views of the spectacular Cornish countryside and coastline before heading out across 28 miles of water. On approach to St Marys passengers will be able to enjoy views of the sandy beaches and the rugged remoteness of the Islands before landing and transferring to Tresco. The Flying Boat Club offers a range of facilities including an indoor swimming pool, gym, steam-room, Jacuzzi and treatment rooms and two tournament-quality tennis courts. There is also the opportunity to have a round of golf at the Isles of Scilly Golf Club or enjoy a stroll in the famous tropical Tresco Abbey Garden.
Commenting on the new Skybus winter flights, Jeff Marston, Chief Executive of Skybus said: By offering a year round service and teaming up with Exeter Airport and Tresco Estate we are able to provide a holiday experience which starts the moment you arrive at the airport. This is a great way to keep the Islands accessible and to offer more customers the chance to experience true luxury closer to home.
The winter break is now bookable with prices for the flight from just 215 per person until 28th February 2009. From 1st March fares will start from 230.
